How to Use Vigil Today

Vigil Today helps you track reminders, manage inventory, and plan restock timing for everyday personal items — things like supplements, household filters, cleaning supplies, and other consumables.

Vigil Today is not for medical, emergency, legal, financial, or other critical purposes. Do not rely on it where failure could cause harm.

1. Sign in

Open vigil.today and sign in with your account. After signing in, you can:

  • Create and manage reminders
  • Add and track inventory items
  • Enable push notifications
  • View your completion history

2. Enable notifications

Your browser or device may ask for notification permission. To enable:

  1. Open Vigil Today
  2. Allow notification permission when prompted
  3. Keep notifications enabled in your browser and device settings
  4. Use the test notification option if available to verify delivery

Notifications may not work if:

  • Your browser has blocked notifications
  • Your device has notifications disabled
  • Battery or focus settings silence notifications
  • Your device has no internet connection
  • Your browser does not support push notifications
  • You have not opened the app recently
  • There are delays from third-party notification services

Do not rely on Vigil Today notifications for critical, medical, or emergency purposes.

3. Create a reminder

Reminders are for recurring personal actions. Examples:

  • Take Supplement A
  • Drink water
  • Replace water filter
  • Check air filter
  • Do workout
  • Review household supplies

Choose a schedule type:

  • Daily — once per day at a preferred time
  • Weekly — specific days or a set number of times per week
  • Monthly — specific days or a set number of times per month
  • Fixed times — specific times of day (e.g., 08:00, 16:00)
  • Interval — every X hours (e.g., every 24 hours)

4. Mark a reminder complete

Tap a reminder to mark it complete. Vigil Today records the completion time and schedules the next due time. If the reminder is linked to an inventory item, completing it may reduce the item's quantity count.

Example: 60 pills linked to a daily reminder — each completion subtracts 1 from the count.

5. Add an inventory item

Inventory items are for things that run out, need restocking, or need periodic replacement. Examples:

  • Supplement bottle
  • Water filter pack
  • Air filter
  • Coffee pods
  • Cleaning tablets
  • Contact lenses
  • Pet supplies
  • Printer ink

Fields you can fill in:

  • Product name
  • Category
  • Quantity on hand
  • Quantity per package
  • Unit type
  • Product link
  • Reorder threshold
  • Usage period or replacement cycle

6. Link a reminder to inventory

Linking a reminder to an inventory item lets Vigil Today update the quantity automatically when you mark the reminder complete.

Example: the reminder "Take Supplement A" linked to "Supplement A bottle (60 pills)" subtracts 1 from the count each time you tap complete.

7. Track a replacement-cycle item

For items that are replaced after a set period rather than used up one by one. Example: a water faucet filter.

  • 3 filters per order, 1 installed at a time
  • Replace every 6 months
  • Remind 10 days before the next replacement if inventory is 0

When installing a new filter, subtract one from inventory and set the next replacement date.

8. Add a purchase

Update your inventory when you buy or receive new stock. Example: you buy 1 pack of water filters containing 3 filters.

  1. Open the inventory item
  2. Tap Add purchase
  3. Enter +3 to add 3 filters to your count

9. Use product links

Save a product link to an inventory item. When your stock is low, a Buy again button may appear on the item detail page.

10. Use private names for sensitive items

Vigil Today is not medical software. If you choose to track personal wellness items, consider using generic names to protect your privacy:

  • Morning supplement
  • Private item
  • Daily capsule
  • Wellness item

Avoid entering sensitive medical information. Do not use Vigil Today for medication safety, dosage management, treatment tracking, or any critical health purpose.

11. Review tracking history

Vigil Today keeps a log of completions and inventory changes. You can review:

  • What you completed and when
  • What inventory changes occurred
  • What items are running low
  • What reminders you often miss

History is for personal reference only.

12. Optional AI Connector

The AI Connector is an optional feature that lets supported AI assistants interact with your Vigil Today data. Example things you can ask:

  • What is due today?
  • What am I running low on?
  • What should I reorder?
  • I bought filters — add 3.
  • Mark the water reminder complete.
  • Register this product as 60 pills, one per day.
